So, went to 25m competition to Jyväskylä. First I had a competition in Barebow class in the morning. Then I had a competition in Recurve class with my Barebow. So I shot again with my Barebow in the Recurve class.

With both shooting had some hard time in some point of the shooting. Looks like less in the second one..

Best point is that I only had like 2 shots that went off before I wanted..

First competition 546 and second 556..

And it looks now like that I can aim again without panic or how you could say that..

So the release is now little more control of me.....

Still waiting my new limbs from Kaya... Got one pair of K5, but they were not made for GreenHorn.

Now waiting for the RIGHT limbs....

After long and tired day of home dad went to shoot some arrows in the evening..
Was it me or why all the other archers left the hall, when I went there. There was like 7 shooters, and all disapeared after I started to shoot, was it the smell or the bad company :))

Well Shot like 40 arrows to warm up and looking the mark.. After that started to shoot 60 arrows scores 3 times... Scores 567, 567, 570... So in practice it's quite level what I shoot. To all scores some bad sets like 25 and 26 points... But I think I was already tired before shooting, so the mind was not with me...

Score 549, okey score for the opening competition. Some very bad sets in the beginning... Scores like 26, 24, 26... First half 272 and second 277.. Second half started to shoot the 3rd target badly.. Lots of down hits to 7,8,9.. Same problem than before, cant shoot 3 good arrows... Practice, practice and some more practice...
It the finals won the first one 6 - 2, but the lost the next 2 -6.. After all 6th place in recurve class was better that I expected.. After two weeks next competition in Kurikka...

Very nice shooting today.. Just little bit tired/not sharp on last 3-4 set. Shot like 26-28 points..

Had also very nice practice with Aulis (compound). He came after half hour and we started to shoot sets... I won first one, two next went to the shoot off (5-5), I lost both :(... Also lost the last one 6-4.. But still shot very good :)...

Score 565 yesterday in Virrat Sporthall... But got a better feeling a in my own finals.. After the normal round I have started to shoot finals to 6 points.. First round, 27 point even, less 0 points and 28 or more 2 points... Second and third round is 28 point even, less 0 and 29 or 30, 2 points..

It's very good practice to shoot high scores :)...

There is something missing in my shooting... It's so close to be very good. Now shooting like scores 550 - 565.. Goal is to go over 570.. I think the bow is ok, or could be that I need little more bounds, that the X7 starts to work.. Need new limbs to get it, now riser turned to full... or just have to buy new arrows.. Just have to find the missing part of the shooting ;)

Just waiting the Kaya K5 limbs to come, or even some word about them.. Looks like that one Italian and one British has already kaya limbs, and I don't...

yesterday shooting was just a little like wondering how to shoot... Started with ace arrows witch I can shoot more for warming up, then change to X7 that I only have 4 arrows... Some midway I started to worder how it's possible that the bows didn't look the same.. Measured it with Riku and because I had changed the limbs that the tiller (the different between limbs) was like 10mm.. So lot of time went to wonder how it's possible and how o fix it.. Got it to like 2,5mm..

So... I thought that I keep some brake after the EC, but no.... Just wanted to go and start shooting indoor straight a way :).... The "bad" result in Italy gave me a boost to keep going..
Now the X7 arrows are tuned to the "red devil" (GreenHorn, Sirius, red) and they are working good, only the man sometimes says can't shoot good.. Like yesterday I started to shoot some 30 arrows scores.. First 5-6 set (3arrows) started like 10,10,8... 10,8,10 and so on.. very good from me, but still could have shot like 10,10,9 even :)... Well, we always hope more than we get...

Competition season in inside is very close, the first one is 15.10, just before two weeks. Starting again to go to the Recurve class with my barebow. I need more tuff competitions and after basic round we have qualification round and the finals.. Very good practice.. Hope to kick some recurve ass also in this season ;)...

European Championships in Italy

So... the main goal in this year is over, with nice results. With the team we won silver medal and in individual class I was inside 8, what was very good result in that kind of weather. We had all week and everyday the temperature like near +40.
I started the tuesday unknown targets with a unsure fealing, that what is going to happend. But after couple targets I was going in the right direction. From that day 345 points and 5th place.
Second day we had given distancies and I had a better feeling, that the shooting was going to bee better. But I think because of the heat like that and some unsure fealing to my shooting the days score was 314 and drop to the 6th place.
To Wednesdays shooting found little better style to shoot and the scores rised up from yesterday.
Was a tuff morning for all, because from the top group dropped out 2 shooters. So went to the next round with 157 point. Afternoon I think that heat was in the top point of the week and It was too much for me, I think that I melted and just couln't shoot normaly anymore. So after that day 8th place, and I'm happy to that.
Friday then the team finals. We started from the 4th place and shot against Austria. We had 8 tuff targets, but we managed to put specially to the 20cm targes very good point, so that we won that match. Next we shot agains Italy, that we had dropped out from the gold medal also year ago in Hungary, so we had a good fealing again of this match. It was only 4 targets and after 3 targets we were level. We started the last 20cm target and put the pressure to Italian with 16 nice point :). they couln't take it and we won.
In the team finals I melted again, like in many other earlier days, and couln't managed to shoot good arrows again. So Germany won by one point..

Happy to last week, Silver and 8th place.
Allready I have a hunger to go and shoot the next year WC, and beat everybody :=)

Bear-competition in Pori

I had practiced all week on 50m to this competition and in practice got nice scores above 660, so the expectation was to brake my own National Record.

The weather forcast did not promesed anything good, like heavy rain and thunderstorm. Allready in warming arrows there was some thunder sounds far away, but they were coming closer and closer.. Weather was like +24, no wind and no rain, so perfect. We managed to shoot almost all round except two (12arrows) when it hit.. Lighning like 500m away and everybody in. Waited like 1h and and after that we could continue the competition. Shot 322 and 326, that's a new National Record from 50m with barebow :). Happy to that. Next time have to strat from the beginning to shoot hard. Many times the arrows stayed low 8, so not a full draw.. Good to continue to Italy. Changed the arrowrest today and tested all the distancies and they stayed in the yellow :). So bow, arrows and man is in shape..

Midsummer competition in Seinäjoki

On Sunday 50m mid-summer competition in Seinäjoki. Yesterday disided to go, and there was place for me in barebow class :), thanks.

Trained to it today in Virrat shooting place. Goal is to have 60 nice and relaxed shot in there.

Today went quite good the shooting. Some not so relaxed arrows, but most of them in yellow.

Lets see whitch kind of weather they have promised for Sunday, not good...

Competition in Kouvola 19.6

My friends from Belgium, Dirk and from Netherland, Xander came to shoot the same competition. This time we had a new field organizator witch was nice. It's very good to have new fields. And it was a very nice one also. They had put 12 targets to the woods and first we had 12 unknown target. After that like 30min brake and then 12 known distancies. Couple misstage in the distancies, but they are learning from it..
My first round with the unknown targets was not so good. All the 40cm targets went all around the yellow and couple mistage with the distancies, but all together bad shooting and not so good distancies. 161 to that round, with two very good arrows. Second half was much better with the known distancies. Remembered again how to shoot relaxed and the arrows started to find the yellow. 172 known target, happy that even there was one 2 and couple 3. Together 333 points witch is the best score for this year :).
Now in the flu, but from that it's very good to continue training knowing that I still can hit the yellow from the long distancies...

It was only snowing when I went to the shooting range. So, nice weather we have it here in Finland :). Enough clothers on and it was okey.
127 arrows from 60m, that was a good training, and most of the arrows (13) inside 8 (122cm).

Field shooting

Went yesterday to Hoods field track, and when I got there it started to rain hiles. Went to the Hoods teepee to cover and had to wait like 15min to the end of the hile rain. During the rain I put some new targets.
Took my measuringtape and looked the new distancies, because I have changed my string to Flamish string and the distancies was like half - one stitch off. Also I have changed my field plunger from Cartel to Easton and also the measuring was little different than before. Now that is okey too. But I will C in Siegburg that are they okey, because it's allways a bit different in the competitions that in practise.
Today to shoot our clubs flat field 60m. That is over distance for the field, but in that distance I can C my faults more easily. No place for errors to hit the yellow, full draw :)

New season, and got to start writing again. Somehow just now enough energy to write anything. Even there has been happening a lot this year.. The natioanal championships went under the bench, won the qualification round, but wasn't in shape in the final rounds men to men.. Next year I will be going there with my X7, I have shot much better with big arrows inside...

But the new season... The main goal is in Italy the European field championships.. and the goal is to won the last match..
I was shooting in Lier (Belgium) the first 5 Nations tournament, and the result was okey. 2 times like 320. It has been long inside season so I'm happy to that score. Ones I was shooting outside before Lier..

Now next goal is in Sierburg Germany.. We were there last year and I know how demaning that field is gonna be. So again happy to 2*320.. It's gonna be tuff and fun at the same time. Can't wait for the walley of cryes (tears). 3 so demanding targets that if U are not in shape U will loose all in there :).
Have to write more offen.. Maybe during the weekend too the woods to shoot some targets :)

Newspaper story in Ilkka of the training session in Teuva.. Only in Finnish, sorry :).

Last weekend I was shooting in Espoo some 60 arrows + finals competition. Hole day the shooting was forsing to shoot. There was like 2 or 3 really relaxed shot. I think it's the 10 face target that makes this so hard. Next weekend we have the finnish national indoor championships in Oulu, and I have lot to do if want to win it. The bow works very good, so it's all up from the head. Have to shoot little quicker and more relaxed, then the arrows finds the yellow.

In two week going with Timo to shoot 5 Nations field in Lier, Belgium, then I'm relaxed. Shooting to right targets, the yellow black field targets :))))))

A2A (F2F)

So, we had our own F2F tournament in Finland. I was already on Friday helping to put up the targets and stuff. And on Saturday morning we put rest of the stuff in the right place. It was nice worming up of the body. Shot like 20 arrows before competition, witch was ok.
We had changed the the F2F rules of Amsterdam a little bit. Barebow shooters had a little bigger 10 (the yellow untill it hits the 8-9 like), and with a compound and recurve there was also a twist of the scores, so that everybody could shoot in one class. Ladys had the normal scoring..
During the day I shot 14 F2F matches and one shoot-off arrow. 181 competition arrows during the day was to some too much, but I shot better and better. My 60 arrows scores was 552, 557 and 562.. My 12 arrows scores were between 107 and 116.
Happy to 8th place, there was all the best compound and recurve shooters of finland.

Finally some light end of the tunnel. When going to hall the shooting was the same, than many times before. But then found wrong body position. My hip and upper body was too much facing to the target and couldn't release to the rightway back. After correcting the hip, the shooting was much easier. Shot 60 arrows score and in the half way found the fault.. 279 and 286, so 565..

Maybe next time shooting on Sunday.. or next Tuesday..

New season

Soooooo....
After a long time some words to my site also..
I have been shooting like a ones a weeks after the F2F and it has been a good idea to do so. To take some time to do something else also.
Got my new arrows and wraps, thanks to Timo, he chose the wraps and they are looking pretty nice. Now I have been tuning the new GreenHorn riser (golden one) to my winact limbs. So little change to the bow, but it works as good as the red one. Next time some fine tuning, because the 18m is still a little to the left. We can shoot inside up till 45m and all the distancies has been nicely to the yellow and the max distance is also under the nock, so no problems there.

We made the new goal for the season and it's gonna be a medal from the European Field Championships from Italy, what else ;). Mid goals are to win in the National Championships inside (18m) 26.3 and field NC 20.8.
Now shooting a little more, like 2-3 times / week.

Went to shoot like 70 arrows. Put a 40cm field targer and looked again how the arrows hit the target. I have 14 arrows and 7 are very good hits the 6, 3 good hits yellow and 4 not so good.
Time to get new arrows..

My all arrows starts to be old arrows and can be used only in practice. So Yesterday I was testing my arrows, are there any okey arrows anymore. Lots of feathers were not so good shape, so changed some of those. Now I have like 10 okey arrows and 3-4 only in practice arrows. I shot to the 60cm field target, and some point lost one arrow more, hit the knock and lost the shaft also :(. Shot 99 arrows.

In the end shot shot 2 arrows through apple. Just wanted to see what happends. Arrow went nicely through apple leaving nice mercedes mark :). The arrow was little sticky after that..

After coulpe weeks of not shooting, we had yesterday a nice club competition.

The goal was to shoot odd score with 1-3 arrows. The distance was 25m to 60cm target.

With three even scores you were out. You couln't use the binoculars, and with the compound

the outshot was 10..

That was great fun, maybe it helped because I won it :). Here some pictures from it...

Competition in Turku and Seinäjoki

555 !!!

In both competitions. Week ago I had some bad 3 arrow targets, but still I had some 30 points targets.. During the week changed Winact limbs to my golden bow and got some more power to the bow. Week ago the bad shots were in left 8, but now the bad shot was still in the yellow. The X7 arrows are little stiff for the bow, so needed some more power..
Yesterday all of the 3 arrows scores were between 27-29, one set was 26, but the shooting level was like average. No peaks and no lows, that was okey.
I had a chance to make a new national record for the barebow with the last arrow, but like normal I put it into 8, leaving me again one point behind the record 556...
Week and a half to go to F2F. So just have to take it easy and do some fine tuning to the shooting and to the bow..

Competition in Kurikka

First competition in this indoor season in Finland and the hopes was little better about the score than I got. Goal was like 560, like I have shot this week in the practices. But like many other times the real score started with 53. Shooting starts was nice, but in some point just the arrows started again go around. And in the first half end I miss the 5ring target complitely. Strugling little bit with the lights, cause in the hall the light was not enough, it was little dark.
We had also the F2F elimination rounds and it started also very badly, I was allready after two ends 4-0 losing, but then I started to shoot good again, took the three next round and won the set 6 - 4. Started the next set very good leading 2-0 and the next two arrows was in ten, but then put the normal 8.. and lots the game.. Also lost then the set 2-6.. but have to be happy to shoot two matches and took some point from the winner :).
I was shooting in the recurve class and my final position was 8th from 17 shooters.
Next week next competition in Turku, hope to shoot better there and tease more the recurve shooters ;=).

Shooting the first time 900-competition. It is 60m, 50m and 40m to the 122cm 10face target. My goal was to get some new finnish record. Tomi Knuutila had the former records and my goal was the get 3/4 of those. Last scores was 257 (60m, tuff), 239 (50m) and 274 (40m).
The 60m score was supprice that I broke the score by two points 259. Second was easier to brake,
got 269. Last should have been easy to brake, but the arrows just were going around yellow. To last two round just tuned the bow and found the 10 again, but too late. Shot there 273 :(. Well now I have some goal in the next 900-competition. But together score 801 was also new finnish record :). So 3/4, I'm happy. That was the last outdoor competition in here, so now just tuning the bow for F2F :)).
Just have to lower the arrowrest and take the X7 arrows to use..

During the weekend we had the best Archery finals in the finnish history. We were shooting middle of the town Espoo in Tapiola the field finals. The local club Robin Hood were made tuff job to brought the archery in the town. The 8 final targets were safe and all the people could see them :). Here is some pictures about that first from Hood then some pic from my sponsor Sami.
Really we had some awsome time in the finals.. I was little scared when Markku was leading after the first 20m target with 2 points.. After second targed I took the lead from the 10m bunny with 1 point.. Then 40m I did 6,4,4 and Markku counl'd follow, and I had a easy job in the final target (50m) to make also 6,4,4 and win the gold medal :)

But, still have to say that the Robin Hood club made a were nice jos to take the field archery to the town to everybody to see :)

Now next ompetition 900 round in finland and then concentrate to the F2F ;)

Next weekend

We have a national field championchip during next weekend, but don't tell anybody that I haven't got time to practice :). I'm working Virrat in local power company and there has been starting last Wednesday so much work, also some night, cause there has been so BIG thunderstorms and downburst that half of the county has been without power in some point. My work days has been like 13h, like today..
I have my marks and shooting style good in my memory from the Hungary :)))

Now to sleep and morning again 7.30 to work, repair some power lines..

But I had a great week in Hungary. What a team we had, and what a personal score.
TWO GOLD medals from the games..
Really no time to write, like now. I have been so busy after coming back to Finland.
Next day I stayed to Helsinki and started to look some houses to move, cause all the family
is pack in Finland and we needed to place to live. And I was also working and during the evenings
just dealing the moving and practical moving stuff..
I had one week brake from the shooting and now started to shoot again for the national field competitions. They are in 14-15.8. Firs day in the woods and the second day we have the finals in the middle of the town in Tapiola, Espoo.

But big thats to all from the support :).

Really hot here, like 33 and rising to Thursday.
The trip went okey for everyone and all the stuff came to Hungary :).
Waiting for the opening seremony, I heard the we are going for a boat trip to Dune :)

I will take the train from Parkano to Tikkurila and then bus to the airport,
where I meet rest of the team. Then flite to Budabest and some buss again to the hotel.

I have trained like 100 arrows a day last month or so, so the rest is up to my head..
We have a good chance with the team also, so hope to shoot on Saturday also the team finals.

Started to ease up the shooting. Last week and a half just shooting lots of arrows (10 at a time). The arrows has been all over the yellow, maybe cause it just has been shooting. Yesterday started to shoot like 3-4 arrows at the time, and with a though. Also yesterday made the skillshootingtest, where is 12 longest targets, like 80cm, 40m 45m 50m... 60cm, 30m 35m 35m.. Score 177 was really promising and raised my confidence to the shooting a lot. Also todays shooting showed that I'm going in the right direction :). (165arrows today, down and uphills)

Yesterdays spare tab just not fit to my hand, so changed it to new one (little used), and it felt mutch better. The spare string was streched a little so couple turn more to it.

Today starting to mole the spare tab and put also spare string to the bow. This point 208 arrows, and also some physical training. First the tab felt little stiff, but after while it started to feel softer and better. Also grouping was mutch better after like 100 arrows.

It was raining first 6 targets or so, so the mood for shooting was not the best. But after the rain stopped it was very nice weather to shoot, even my shooting was not so good in the first or the second day till target 17. The arrows just couldn't hit the yellow, all 15m or longer targets the arrows just went all over the target.. Second day after 17 target I found my problem. The release was not in the right direction, it was like forward and sideways, but not back, where it should be..
After figure that out the last 7 targets were really good, like 40m/60cm (15p) couple 30m/60cm (16-17p) and so.
After that also the training has been very good and the aiming has been more easier than before.
Now 3 weeks to go before Hungary. Now it's looking good and I'm more confident about my shooting :).
Today 204 arrows, and maybe moore..

This weekend was the last weekend before summer vacation in Finland and moving back for good to Finland (never say never). Maybe next Wednesday the last training in there.
But two good training days in there, very nice weather saturday +29 and today +22, also some inline skating after both shooting.
Startting to hit yellow more and more, now when the bow is tuned right :). Yesterday 130 arrows, and today 170. Just shooting all the distancies and hitting nice..

Nice afternoon for training, like +24 and little wind. Some point shot without shirt, hope that nobody saw me :). Started to check every distance that they were grouping. Put the 80cm target and started from 30 to 50m by 2,5m steps.. Those were pritty okey. Then I had also 60cm target next to it and shot from 15m to 40m.. Went back to 30m/80cm to check the grouping, and notised that all the arrows was all over the X. Changed the string hight up and down, nothing worked?!?
Then tooked a stiff plunger and 3 normal arrow and naked arrow. Even then those 3 arrows didn't group from 18m, and the naked arrow was one ring to the left. So, just tuned the riser half round stiffer. After that the normal arrows started to group, but still the naked arrow in left. So another half round more and the naked arrow started to be next to the normal arrows. So changed back the normal plunger, and the grouping from all distancies was mutch better...
224 arrows with tuning. (2,5h) + 45min of rollerskating after the shooting :).
And also changed during the tuning the arrowrest and the nocking point little higher,
but all the marks stayed the same..

Nice field, very technical. Not so deep up and down hills, but had to be very carefull about that the bow was straight. Some very bad targets like couple times 20m 4face uphill. Like 4,4,3's.. Don't know what happened?!? Have to check the 20m next time in the practice field.
I think the best target was today 50m quite level, but normally I have shot the like 11 points, but today it was better, 6,5,5 there and veery happy..
So, more practice and have to practice the uphills, when back in Virrat..
And today was like 15 target uphill and some 2-3 in level, rest 5 maybe downhill. Somethink like that, but defenetly mostly uphill today.

And the score was 326.. with no 1's or 2's, but with 11 of 3's. Only 14 6's, 5's 21.. and rest was 4's like 26..

Went to shoot some arrows, stopped in 176.. It was raining all the time a little, but that was not the reason. Tomorrow a competition in Theux. Never been there, so I wanted to try it, like the other competitions in Germany.. Looking okey, just have to focus to the shooting, so it will be okey.. Lets see tomorrow.
In Finland the second competition of the years, here the result from Riihimäki, thanks to them.
Finnish recurve team won the bronce metal from the Target EC, nice..
Some finnish shooter thinks that there is only one real bow, the one that is used in Olympics. I don't understand that?!? I think I will put sight to my bow and gonna go and mix the bag ;).
Its so easy to shoot with the sight, try without it :))...

Even better weather.. We started to clime to the 1st shooting place from the warming up place. When we get to the 1st pole, I was all wet from the inside, so still have to practice fysics :). But up in the hill I could only see the red pole.. Going closer to the pole and still couldn't se the target.. When I was standing next the red pole I foound the target... It was like 40degree angle down and 45m. No idea witch mark to take. started with 40m mark and it was up.. Took of more and shot like 37,5m mark. still only like 11 points... Very nice target, and the next one was uphill 40m/60cm.
Veery nice start :). So, my shooting was better and I had learned something from the Saturdays shooting, I got the score 337. I'm almost happy to that (okey U are never happy to the scores that U get) but anyway have to be happy to that in that kind of field.
Thanks to Martin Koini, they had put a very nice REAL field up, like Peter Lange in Siegburg, it was a pleasure to shoot :).

First day in Altenkirchener

Woke up at 5 and drove to Altenkirchen like 2,5h (280km). Both days nice weather. It was rained a little on friday, so the field was little wet, but not so slippery that it could be. When I found the place and I looked around I knew that it's not gonna be an easy ride :). Middle of the both hills (red and yellow track) went a nice river what I could hear almost in every target, very nice place. I was put in a 1st group both days so we started the first half with the known distancies. Lyckily after 12 targets, when we shot the unknown targets, the field leveled a bit (thak god).
316 first day. Nice warming, but still it tooked like 12 targets to lear how to shoot the up- and downhills. And also I got some nice tips from Josef Mayer (thanks to him, that second day shot better). Also the weather warmed after midday, so it was mutch nicer to shoot. First half 149, and second 167. Not so happy to that, but learnd a lot how to shoot up and down.
First day score 316. Better than in two week ago, so that was okey..

Yesterday was really tuff to practice. I don't know why, but after like 20 arrows my shoulders were so tired from the shooting?!? Maybe because last week I started to skate with the stick and started to practice little more than before.. But anyway had to concentrate really good to get the arrows to somewhere.. Nice training, 154 arrows and got my distancies to the weekend. It was like +7 and little rain..

Today mutch better training and I wasn't so tired after arrows. Checking my distancies and measuring for the weekends competition in Alterkirchen. Everything is looking mutch better than two weeks ago in Siegburg, where just got 303.. Now really good grouping, after tuning the the grouping :).
Now just wake up at 5 at Saturday morning and nice warmup and shoot a very nicely. I would be happy round 330 score in both days. I think it's gonna be a real fíeld like in Siegbourg (thanks Peter, see U next yeard).

New arrows

I got new arrows on Thursday, thanks to FatArchery again :). I knew that there was something else wrong than the man. I just got too old arrows, now complete different grouping than with the old ones..
Started today with 12 bare safted arrows. Got 11 of them to nice group from 18m. One was flying more to the left (stiffer) than the others, why? Well, no wonder the point was in the wrong end. And ACE is stiffer if you put the point to the other end. So chanced that to the same end than the others and it started to work :). After that fletched 3 arrows and shot 3 fletched arrows and 3 bare arrows. Arrows seemed to be little stiff, with the stiff plunger test, so turned one round more pounds to the bow. Now got all arrows to the same group. After that started to shoot nice groups to the yellow in every distance ;). So no need to tune the Beiter plunger. Should have bought the new arrows little bit earlier. Also I got a new strings that Riku made me, and that was working also very nice..
But no worries, next weekend very nice competition on Altenkirchener and the seasons main goal is in July in Hungary..

Boys came from Finland (Timo And Riku), for competition in Germany, Siegburg.
Saturday we were shooting in my club in Rumst. Very nice weather, like +20 and sun was shining.
Sunday wes even better, like +25 in Siegburg. Very tuff field in there, lots of deep angles of up and down. Score 303 says that not enough practice on up and downs.
We liked the field veeery mutch, promesed to go the next year also.

Very nice weather today, I shot with shorts and t-shirt, +20 and sun was shining :).
Shot 152 arrows from 25, 40 and 50 meters. Went quite nicely, when remembered to keep the hip staple. Next goal on Sunday in Germany, Siegburg. They have promesed a real field, ups and downs. Couple friends from Finland is also coming to shoot it, if the planes can fly on Friday, hope so..

Little better 340 ;). Half way today founded the reason, why there has not been grouping day and a half. Have to keep the hip stable. After I figured that out, last 12 targets 176. Now have to put all in paper, and check the list everytime before shooting.

Found the reason why all short distances were little left. Bow was working fine, but I lined the string in wrong position. Little bit too mutch right. I shot first in 20cm.. 5, 7,5, 10, 15. Then 40cm.. 10, 12,5, 15, 17,5, 20 25.. and so on.. ended to 80cm 40m.. After that I had 139 arrows shot.. Okey weather +10 and little sun.

Little bit better shooting than Saturday. Somehow all the bunnyes were little left, so lost like atleast 10 points to those. Have to tune the bow.. But that was the first field in good conditions.
Second day score 340, together 329 +340 = 669. First place, but only 7 point to Hans Van Hout..

Monday inside 117 arrows, with new settings. New limbs Hoyt 550, new string to them and new Beiter plunger (thanks to Timo). Just put all together and didin't need to tune the riser at all. Just tuned a little the plunger. All distance 5-25 in yellow :). The limbs were more quiet that before, cause I put on them the limbsavers. They are we nice to shoot :).

Today outside shooting 30-50m. Still every distance in yellow. 50m is little right and 30m is little left. But there is time to fine tune the bow before next field 20-21 of March.

Saturday, the couple shooting

We were trying to find the place in Netherland, but the Tom Tom wanted to us go somewhere else?!? They have changed so many road near Eindhoven, so the GPS couldn't follow the real world..
But after we found the place, everybody else were waiting for us. But we made it just in time :).
Shooting was not so good, like in practice. Maybe the change of arrow rest was too mutch for the X7 arrow. But one time I shot full 30 points, even our opponets thought that I was shooting with compound and got only 9,9,9, but we said that no, I was shooting with Barebow those BIG arrows, and the score is 10, 10, 1o ;).
But even I wasn't happy to my shooting, we had fun and we were better than last year :).

After that the X7 arrows started to go around the yellow.
Don't know why? It was really hard to get 3 yellows.

The good weather didn't last long. Now its has been cold again and also snowing here. So shooting inside. I started to shoot with 10 arrows. First three to the three spot and other to 60cm target. So in the same time have to really focus for the three first arrows and then the rest of arrows just shooting more relaxed. Normally all arrows stayed in yellow :). Counting points from the spot target... After 110 arrows changed to X7 arrows and shot to the spot. Shot 30 arrows score with those also. It was better than with ACE's. After that I put 40cm Soma field target (waterproof). It has 4times the target and its made from somekind of fabric or so.. Shot (ace) to those from 15-20m, rest of the 260 arrows.

Smog

Driving to Rumst, and I was wondering how the traffic in the motorway was so calm. Then I saw the reason, speed limit 90km/h, because of Smog. It was very nice to drive compairing the normal speed. Now I could enjoy, normaly its chaos..
Weather was cold -3, so went to inside. Shot 18m 30 arrows score 280. After that shot with the ACE's some more to 60cm target. All together 216 arrows.

Yes, shooting in Rumst OUTSIDE ;).
It was a nice weather to shoot, +8 and no wind. So I shot to the 80cm field target from 40-50m.
10 arrows at time, and mostly half of the arrows finded the yellow. That is a very good start for the outdoor season. Today 140 arrows.

I was driving to Rumst to shoot inside, but on the way I visit the outdoor field, cause it was very nice day, +5 and the sun was shining a bit. I almost went to shoot outside, but I just didn't had enough shirts on. So shot indoor with my X7 arrows after some warming up arrows, 30 arrows score, what was from the 18m 287. I was very supprised, I haven't shot that good never.
How to move those scores to competitions. I think it's just more practice and some more.
Today 60 arrows. Maybe on Friday out to shoot, if it's a this kind of weather like today :).

Today the weather was around +5 but it was raining a little. Still cold. Scoring one point more than yesterday, so the score is 342 + 343 = 685. It's a nice start for the field season in that weather :). Today three times maximum, both days (18 + 22 sixies), that is good, after training ones in a week.

Nothing special, shooting two times this week. 133 and 125 arrows. The Hoyt 550 limbs are so lound, that I'm not gonna use them before I get some limbsavers on them. Practising 25m, on wednesday I have a 25m competition on Jyväskylä. Goal there is over 550, I think that I'm not in the record condition (561), so that 550 would be realistic goal.
Had to change the string. It was weard out from the upper loop.

Yesterday some volleyball and today about 130 arrows. Testing the Hoyt 550 limbs and compairing them to Winact limbs. I shot from 18m to 40m and the tab marks stayed the same with both limbs. So the Hoyt limbs gives the same bounds than the Winact. Only different was that the Hoyt limbs were more noisy. I put to them the limb saver, maybe that help with the sound. I'm gonna test to reduce the noise with the string hight, adding and redusing the turns on the string.

I try to go shooting tomorrow, some hour to test the new Hoyt 550 limbs. I had some time to test them quickly, and they was almost like the Winact limbs. Thats good, so I don't have to change anything else.

Vaasa 5.12.2009

Very nice competition in Vaasa, little grouded but othervise very nice. The brakes were nice and shorts, and the shooting phase felt quick, even we shot in 3 groups.
First quoter was okey 140, second 136. End of that quoter started the difficulties, I couldn't regognice the reason to that. Third was 132, shot there 3*8 in one serial, after that I knew what was wrong. It was my hip that started to turn to left. So I put my hip straight again and started to hit yellow again. Last 5 set 140. Score 276 and 272 makes 548. Little disapointed but 8th place after that from 16 shooters was okey.
Before the man to man round there was a little bigger brake and I just couldn't keep the fealing. I shot 27,27,29 and 28. Just lost two point to Juuso who shot 29,29,27,28. But I was the best of the loosers, so my final place was 9th :).
I was competing in recurve class to get some tuffer opponets. Very good practice to the next season. And the X7 arrows worked very good, man didn't ;)

ACE / X7

Second test.
I tought that in the shooting range would be somebody else also shooting, but supprice there was nobody. First started with the ACE arrows shooting some warmup arrows. Then shot 30 arrows score, 282. Changed to X7, score 284. So now its 2-0 to X7 arrows... Also I shot with ACEs 3*8, but with X7 only 1...
And it's fun to shoot with the X7 arrows ;))), I have some motivation to shoot, that's more important than shoot better with those arrows.

Thanks guys for the comments, but ;), I was today shooting with them and it was mutch more fun to shoot with them. Also shot the first half with X7 (30arrows) to score 282 and with the ACEs second half 278.. So, after first trainings winner is X7 :). In our archery hall in Virrat, X7 was easier to aim in the middle. With ACE, the point reflected the light from the roof to the points both sides and the upper part was unvisible.
The shooting style does not change at all, I only have different plunger..

But this is for having something else and fun inside than shooting the same everytime.
And lets see the other shooters faces when they see Barebow with big arrows ;)).

This evening again training, now I'm gonna shoot first with the ACEs (30 arrows) and then with X7. Dirk, lets see Xanders face, when I'm pulling my special weapons in the couple shooting.

Trying to put some feathers to the arrows. It's very long prosess to glue the feathers. Like wait 25min glue to dry, and then next... So one arrow 1h15min... Takes all evening to glue 4 arrows.. It's so easy and fast to put the K-Vanes, that I have in the ACE arrows... Like 2min arrow..

Now in Finland and Virrat. Maybe tomorrow I can visit the shooting cave in here and shoot some arrows, BIG and ACEs :)...

Yesterday 227 arrows and today 108. I visited the archery shop in Vilvoorde here in Belgium just to buy some nocks. But I have longer thinked to buy some BIG arrows for indoor shooting, so I bought 4*X7 2312 arrows. Lets see how they work whit my bow :). It's just for fun to try them out.

My next competition is in Vaasa (Finland) 5.12.2009, and I'm shooting in the recurve class to the vages targets. So I founded some vages targets from my club, and shot to those about 120 arrows.
Founded nice tuning to 18m and shot result 2*30 arrows. First 30 was 287, with 3*30 and the second half 280, with one 30. I shot only like 3-4 eights, so I was more that happy to that result :).

I'm planning to go challenge some recurve shooters in Vaasa 5.12.2009, if there is still places open..
And I get a babysitter ;). They have also the finals, so that's a very nice practice to the future.

Not a word from Green Horn about the limbs, so I'm not gonna shoot with their limbs next year.
I ordered Hoyt's 550 limbs from FatArchery ;).

Second promise of the limbs deliver was beginning of this week, and still no limbs :(((((((((((((((.
Most defenedly I'm going for the next season with my W&W limbs, and I got a very nice offer for a new limbs, for my real sponsor from finland. The FATarchery shop, and they keep what they say :).
Otherwise I have been sig all of this week. I had on Monday vomit desease, and I lost like 2kg of my weight, couldn't eat enything. Now I could eat a nice steak and some red wine :)).

Thanks to Jarkko all the support (he wrote in finnish some comments).
Since we moved to Belgium, I haven't shot almost any inside competitions, because here they are little different than in Finland. I shoot like one 18m competition and one 25m competition during the winter time. And I really don't practice those distancies. Let's see, maybe someday. Latest next year, when the Face2Face is again, I'm gonna go there to drop some recurve shooters :). Also the field season is staring here on January, so no time for indoor shooting :).

Green Horn promised me a new pair of limbs this month, I hope I get them.
And a new riser before next year. I keep my fingers cross..
