Starting to hit okay and also aiming okey. Only the long distancies was not so good, but they were enough. Just more long distancies practice and it starts to be nice.
Broke one arrow from 25m and second pic was a known distancies shooting test. That the distancies are correct and every distance is in the yellow ring. Quite happy to the score..
During weekend the Field National Championchips in Inkoo, Finland ;)

Field in Salo. 12 + 12 targets again. Weather was nice and sunny today. Not so good start to the field, after 12 targets only 151 points, witch was not so nice. Missed one 60cm/20m tartget after 6 and 5. had those moments that could not shoot or aim good and shot two's and mos and bad shots. After we got passed slow compound group, the phase was better and shot second half 171, witch was nice. Together 322 point. After 3 weeks the Field National Championship in Inkoo. Hope to shoot better then..

12 + 12 targets competition in Riihimäki, was not so good from me.
All the short targets up to 25 meters was okey. But longer than that was not so good.
Now I know what to practice more :). Weather was okey almost the day, but last 6 targets
it started to rain. I guess after that the tab turned a little sticky and like 40m/60cm '
and after that 50m/80 got only 7 point from them. Together 311 points and second place
after Timo Leskinen who shot 339.
Next weekend next field in Salo. Need to shoot much better than that.
Now just shooting this week only 50m..

2D, 28 target animal round in Keuruu

Finally some nice weather to shoot in practice and also today at competition. I had only 50km from Virrat to drive to the competiton. in the way all of the lakes were calm and I wanted to take some photos of them, but let my camera/phone at Virrat. But I managed to be one day out of the phone ;).

At the field lots of small targets and many targets at maximum distancies. So very tuff animal round. All distancies were unknown and I only missed one squirrel. It was from 12meter and it was too quick and small ;). Or I just didn't want to hit it.. Shot with the Dragon vanes today and they worked nice. Had a nice day in the woods and got 480 points, I guess that's a nice score with barebow and those distancies..

5Nations, Vertus, France

Nice two days competition in Vertus, France, The competition was in a new place for me. They changed the place because the major of the city said that the old place was too dangerous. That was much harder and nicer, but this new place was okey too. First day they promised some rain, but the weather stayed dry.
First day and first competition of the year, so lots of mistakes. But feeling was nice and it was fun to shoot again the field. End of the day got 326 points.
Second day was much windier and colder than the first, but I just put enough clothers so that was not a problem. Started 6 first target with 89 points, witch is very good score. After that the aiming panic hit me a bit, so next 6 was only 69 points.. Like a miss in a 15m/20cm target. End was little bit of strugling, but managed to get 322 points, what was enough for the first place.
They always have a nice prises like now :)..
Had a two days fun and saw all the archery friend again after two years..

Brrrrrrrrr... winter

Feels like winter here. Even the sun was trying to warm up, there was a very cold wind also. Two shirt was not enough. Talosaari is so close the ocean so the chill comes from there.
But manage to shoot some arrows. Put all the field targets there and shot from 5m to 50m to try shoot all the distancies. Started okey, but not quite middle the arrows. Tuned the bow in some point, just fixed the string hight, and started to hit better. Ended for 45m in the pic, not bad.
I guess I'm as ready than I can be for the weekends 5Nations tournament in Vertus, France.
Promised not so good weather, rain on Saturday, maybe better on Sunday..

Tapanin kierros

First outdoor competition for the year. Nice and cold weather, but better that they had on Saturday in Oittaa. So, 28 Hunter round. I guess it was first for me. Nice practice to shoot 4 competition arrow per target. Not ready for the round, but there was lots of good aimings and shots. So very good to continue from here. Shot 444 and won the class with two competitors ;).
Next weekend WA fiels in Vertus, France. Maybe they have better weather there, and don't have to use 3 shirts and a jacket...

Weather

It's not fare that other in Europe has been shooting some competition outside and we here at Finland trying to go outside and shoot some arrows. Today weather was +4 and freezing tiny wind. Not nice to try tune the bow. I still managed to be there like 1,5 hours, with two long sleeved shirt and one t-shirt. Only I was missing the hand warmers.
But shooting was okey and got some tuning to do.

During weekend trying to tune the bow. I had a new string that I was trying to tune up. From 5 to 25 meter it worked fine, but after that to 50m it was not so good. I guess it is a little too long, because had to put lots of turns for the string. Otherwise very nice weather on Sunday, but still quite chilly wind. Maybe it comes from the sea, its not so far from the field. 

Today trying out old strings, maybe I get better feeling with them...

New arrows / vanes

Made my new arrows ready yesterday. Put some XS vanes to four arrows and some K-vanes other four. Went to the practice field to test them. Weather was like +7 and still some snow in the field. Not the best weather to test some arrows, but that is what we get here north at this time of the year..
Started to shoot from 30m and shot old arrows and those two sets of new arrows. There was no difference between any arrows, they all hit the same area.
Need to test some more, when saying is there any difference between them. Hope that during weekend little better weather or at least little warmer. Needed to put couple long t-shirt that could shot. The field was still quite wet, so my boots soaked the and almost let the water in...

So,, couple weeks and no shooting, have been sick at least two weeks of that.
But yesterday the weather started to be so good, sun was shining and it was +8, se went to shoot some  arrows from 50m, not bad start from it (the pic). Also promised warmer and warmer weather. Maybe today some more arrows..

Black and yellow

To the hall and shooting field target from 15-22m.. Great feeling when you can aim and shoot all the arrows close to yellow (field target is black and middle is yellow, points 1-6,  1-4points are black, 5 and 6 are yellow). So the longbow fellows were shooting different distancies, so I went along. Good practice for the coming field season. But good feeling from the shoot, back to the haal on Thursday..

Last week

Last week only couple time of shooting, but the quality was great. Shooting from 30m with Mikko, means that have to shoot more quality arrows than normaly when shooting alone. That is always the best way to train, to "compete" with someone.
Maybe this evening some arrows..

So it was a really busy day at work, not really. We have had really few ordir at works, so thought that whay not to take the afternoon free and go to shoot. Has been really slow week from shooting, so wanted to go and shoot some arrows. I tarted to shoot and Mikko Juutilainen showed up. I wanted to shoot some 30m, because the field season is coming up quite soon. It was okey to Mikko also, so we ended to shoot some 100 arroes from there. Now got some up and bottom limbs n the bow :). Started to shoot and almost all of the arrows just started to hit the yellow. I'm so happy, finally after 5 years the aiming panic is almost gone. That is so gooood fealing to shoot relaxed... Could not be happier..

So today was the IFAA 20yard 60 arrows National championship in Riihimäki.
Started at the morning to clean some extra weight from the bowcase, So took out second riser and couple pair of limbs. That was okey until in Riihimäki, like 40min from home realise when put the bow ready, that I had only two upper limbs only with me. Thought couple minutes what to do and realise that can't do anything else than just put the limbs to the bow.
So in the warming up arrow noticed that the bow works okey and could shoot with it. There is not so big different with the upper and lower limbs, so I could do it..
But the competition was a bit strugling with the aiming and releasing. We fight with Pertti to the last bit from the first place. Half way we had some 4-5 ppoint different for me, but 3 sets later he was only one point behind. We shot the last 3 sets with the same points and I ended to the first place with one point difference. But that is enough and got the gold medal.

Sunday 28.2, 20y competition in Riihimäki

So after tuff final last week, some brake from shooting. But yesterday and today back in business and it starts to look good. The aiming goes better and better. So also the arrows are grouping better and better. Just shooting yesterday 90 arrows and today like the same.
Now some training with the skies, some country style action.

TV-gold match

So, lost the final. Just not ready for shooting in tv and only one arrow at 20s. That is a really short time. Next time have to take some 20s training. But it was also a new situation for most of the final shooters.
Just got a better feeling for the 3rd set, but then the match was over. Next year, better result :).

Gold final tomorrow

Yes, yes, yes.
Tuff day today. up at 6.30am and drive to Tampere Messukeskus. Around 9 everything ready at the shooting place. Then just waiting for a warmup to start..around 10.15. Warming was not good, but when the competition started, the arrow founded yellow and nice points.. Shot some point some nice 4 and 6, but still half way some 3 point behind the lead.. Second half was not as good that the first, but I could keep the second place. So again after basic round some 1,5h waiting. Some warm up arrows before first semifinal. Tuff won with 6-0 (26-25, 26-25, 26-25). Semifinal I won 6-2, with a lost in first set 28-29. Just keps my head cool and won 3 next set :).
So tomorrow at GOLD match against Timo Leskinen.
It's a rematch from last year ;)
Now some food and sleep.
Tomorrow starts at 10.20, but tv shows it starting at 10.25. Finnish tv YLE2..

Now at Mäkelänrinteen Swiminghall relaxing at the swimingpoo. After that eating lunch and updating the blog their restaurant. It was a nice tuna/salmon salad :)

Today first thing in the morning back to the shooting hall. I thought that everything was okey from yesterday, but no. Same thing going on, round and round. Got more yellows than yesterday, but still something was missing. Again changed the string, little better. Started to shoot 60 arrows score and still something wrong. Changed the tab and everything was better than before. Got nice 545 score.
After that shot two sets against Marjut, won them both 6-4 and 6-0. That was a nice boost for the end :), thanks Marjut.
Now I'm ready for tomorrows 18m National championships ;)

Thursday training.. That was two sided training. I changed the arrow rest, because started to use the big ones and the arrow was just high point of the plunger. So changed the rest and started to shoot. Could not hit even the yellow. Tryend and tryed, but the arrows went all over the yeallow. Changed the string and nothing happened. Shot like 150 arrows, but in the end got 6 yellows. Finally found it..

I don't know why, but I dig out the big arrows from somewhere. Maybe I could not hit good enough with the ACE's on Sunday. But for a change the shooting was fun with the big ones :). Just put the golden bow up with Kaya's K5 limbs and tuned the plunger little bit and arrows started to hit the yellow, nice.. Shot 150 arrows. In the end started to be little tired and arrows started to go also to red. Couple training before Saturdays 18m indoor Championships..

IFAA 120 arrows National Championship

7 hours of shooting, including warm up  and the  reward was 1st place in IFAA 120 National Championship. Score card is in my Facebook page. Only 5 points from the National Record and I guess it is my personal record. So very good training for next weekend WA indoor 18m Championship.

Yesterday some tired and forsed arrows in practice... Today just rest and take it easy. The aiming is start to get better and better. After 5 years it's getting closer and closer what I prefer. I guess some tuning with the bow also, before Sundays 120 arrows IFAA National Championships.. Feeling very good. Lets see after tomorrow :)

That's a big boost for this year. My main goal in year 2016 is to be among the best four in the World Field Championships in Ireland end of September 2016. Closer target this Sunday IFAA 120arrows National Championship competition in Inkoo and next weekend World Archery National Championships in Tampere. More later, now some arrows to shoot...

Some time after last update, but now things are looking much better.
